An Unexpected Encounter
"I believe as a Christian that each day is a decision. Each day, I wake up and remind myself to not only honor God, but to spread the word of God through my actions."
Yesterday, I met a muslim who asked me about my Christian faith.
This man had read three pages of The Bible, but stopped because it did not make sense to him.
This man has a daughter who is a Christian.
This man changed my life forever.
Like anything new, Christianity is not just something we decide one day and move on.
Christianity is a choice, each day.
Christianity is not just a belief, it is a practice.
And the thing with practicing is: we are not always going to get it right. We are going to continue to mess up over and over.
I would have to say the part that amazed me the most about this encounter yesterday was that God was leading the conversation.
I talked to this man for two hours, and before this, I had never been so open to anyone about my faith.
I was not a big bible reader.
I make mistakes over and over.
I am not the constant example of the Lord that I want to be.
But I love God.
I want to serve God.
God reminded me that it does not matter how far we are from God, even if we have gone our whole life without him.
If we ask for forgiveness and make the same mistake tomorrow, God is going to continue to forgive.
We are the Lord's children.
We are not living a test for God to see when he can finally let us go because we have sinned too much.
There is no sinning "too much."
When we love God, and we understand that Jesus Christ is his son, we could mess up a million times. Our God will continue to love us unconditionally, because we are HIS treasure, even when we don't feel valuable.
We can be an example of God so many ways if we look around:
The man crossing the street,
Our uber driver,
The person next to us at work,
A classmate,
A neighbor,
A family member.
Now I wonder,
How many opportunities have I missed like this in the past?
What is life going to be like if I live like I did in this moment, every day.
Great testimony Maggie. Just be careful. Love you so much❤️🙏
